Get a baking tray like the one he is using to mix, place all the ingredients in it including water or chicken stock. Preheat the oven at 375, cover and place in the oven for 30mins. Let it cool then portion. I cook for my dog every 2 weeks and it’s the easiest thing to do.

This recipe is great you need some organ meats. Especially liver. They need the zinc supper important Could you list the amount of everything in the recipe for us please. Sabel looks great. The pool is good exercise for her wish I had a pool for my baby. Thank you for your videos

I also add, apple,blueberries,frozen bananas, and I’m considering adding fish oil. As long as it’s good for my Ziggy, I’ll add it whatever I can for variety and nutrients.

Im definitely going to add blueberries. I do add kale and asparagus & pumpkin, I'm about to look up what herbs to add, I've never used rice. You've given me some great ideas.

Thank you for this update/video. I'm going to make a batch of this today, good dog food has gotten so expensive. Hopefully in the long run this will be better for my dog Gus and save me a few dollars.

Loved your video, my dog is a Pomchi, she weighs 16 lbs, shes at least 6 pounds overweight, I’m going to make this, however I need to know wt a serving size would be for her.

I have been making my own dog food for a long time and I use my crockpot. It takes me about five minutes to load the ingredients into the crockpot and at the end a couple of minutes to mix then dish it out into individual portions.

Great job! But as an instapot user for several years now, I think you should look up the times for cooking those ingredients. Most would cook in 10 minutes in the instapot!

Someone mentioned something about flaxseed. I put that in my homemade food. I have one dog that eats the blueberries and I have another dog that spits them out. 🤣 Add olive oil. Maybe an eighth of a cup. With the cost of quality dog Kibble food I mix in my homemade food with it. Thanks for the update. I use a slow cooker. Started in the morning and it's done by 3:00 in the afternoon. For a little bit of flavoring variety check out herbs. Rosemary, thyme, basil. Just a pinch. Sometimes I put in chicken hearts instead of liver. Add to the variety.

Sweet Potatoes, Rice, Spinach - these are high oxalate foods and I avoid giving them to my dog? Oxalates have a threshold limit above which they become toxic to dogs and people both.

Could this be a raw diet food? Like mince it all together and freeze in individual portions?

I would use wild rice because white rice has no nutritional value. Everything that we and our dogs eat should be nutritionally beneficial. Great job in doing this for your dog you’re an awesome pet dad! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

What if you don’t have an instant pot…Can you do this with an air fryer? Or just cook it in a big soup pot? Also my dog is just as big as your dog so would it be okay to feed 3xs a day or just 2x?

I have posted in the past about my dog Buster who had seizures, brain tumor & cancer. He loved this home made food! Well we had to put Buster down on Thursday. His body was giving out. He was on phenobarbital & CBD & this homemade food recipe for the last year. I enjoyed making his food as much as he enjoyed eating it. I recommend making your own. If I ever get another dog I will put it on this food right away. Thanks Buck Stop!!

The rice and vegetables are completely unnecessary. Dogs are carnivores, not omnivores.

I have discovered that my dog has an allergy to rice so I've been substituting lentils instead of rice. Much better results.

A dirt cheap protein source is, gizzards, hearts and livers either chicken, turkey or duck. Mind you do need a meat grinder, and if you got a sausage stuffing kit? You can take your fresh dog foodstuffs, grind it all up and stuff sausage casings, then bake them off, steam or boil them, or just freeze them. If you can smoke them you can make them nearly shelf stable. Making Dog Sausages is helpful with packaging serving sizes. If you freeze them raw, and use a pot, filled shallow with water, you can prep the cooked sausage and use the water for feeding mixed fresh food with kibble moistened with flavorful water.

No brown rice is not better than a urban legend. White rice is better and easier to be digest, rice 🍚 fiber on the brown rice just make the rice going direct through your system without absorbing the nutrients, that is why they use white rice over then brown

My little dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I went to get the food recommended by my vet...$100 a bag. Did my dog eat the expensive "healthy" food - NO. In desperation I started looking into recipes for dog food, but when I spoke to my vet she said that it must be created under veterinary criteria? Anyway, I decided fresh food prepared at home HAS to be better. THANK YOU!!

This is super helpful, thanks so much! Vets would go out of business if all dogs ate this way I’m sure! I know it’s not feasible for everyone - but we should at least consider adding fresh healthy foods where we can. Kibble is ultra processed and affects dogs the same way it affects humans, if we ate cheerios and pasta everyday we’d be sick all the time with loose stools too

I made this and my dog loves it. I am worried I am not feeding her enough. She is 25 lbs. but she is overweight. I have been feeding her 1 cup per day... Half a cup in the morning and the rest in the evening. How do you know how much to feed? Anyone know how many calories are in a cup?
